Used in oil and gas E&P operations for more than a decade, Schlumberger DeepLook - CS Crosswell Seismic Imaging technology is proven to provide the highest resolution imaging of storage reservoirs and CO2 movement available.
In CO2 sequestration operations, Crosswell Seismic Imaging can be initially utilized to supply a baseline profile of the reservoir. With up to 100 times the resolution of surface seismic, this technology delivers ultra-high resolution views of the storage zone and the cap rock that seals the reservoir.
Once the baseline characteristics of the reservoir are established, Crosswell Seismic Imaging can be used to monitor the movement of the injected CO2, ensuring that it follows the predicted course of the dispersion models.
Over time, ongoing monitoring utilizing Crosswell Seismic Imaging can also play a key role in ensuring that the reservoir is intact, and that CO2 containment remains secure.
